The North Idaho SBDC offers no-cost coaching to business leaders and owners. Coaching is available for: Existing Businesses, Exporting, and Start-up Businesses.

Idaho SBDC business coaches are available to meet with you by confidential appointment to assist with your diverse business needs and challenges. The coaches can guide you on issues of strategy development, marketing, management, finance, operations, exporting, technology commercialization, leadership and more. They are also happy to discuss ideas, answer questions, and provide guidance on a one-to-one basis on virtually any aspect of business for profitability and growth.

Meetings are generally held at the Idaho SBDC offices during normal business hours, but special arrangements can be made to accommodate unique circumstances.

Our Coaches

The North Idaho SBDC coaches possess extensive business experience from diverse industries that make them well-qualified to assist you with your business needs. Our coaches draw from the breadth of their business and educational experience to provide practical, relevant advice.

The coach’s focus is one of guidance for business and leadership development. Coaches can help business owners identify future goals and strategies to overcome challenges they may face. During the initial assessment sessions, your coach will help you to clarify your vision and goals, then provide whatever assistance you may need to achieve them.

William Jhung, Region I Director

Bill has served as the Director of the Idaho Small Business Development Center at the North Idaho College since October 2005. Prior to joining Idaho SBDC, Bill served as the Executive Pastor of a large church. He has also performed strategic planning and organizational alignment for World Vision, an international relief and development agency.
As an entrepreneur he started two ventures and turned around two failing businesses. He also worked as a management consultant to Fortune 1000 companies in manufacturing, service, and non-profit industries. He began his career designing, building and running manufacturing plants.

Bill holds an MBA with a focus in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of Business. While at Wharton he also served as a senior consultant for the Wharton Small Business Development Center.

Mike Wells, Business Coach

mwsquareMike has over 25 year experience in the hospitality and food and beverage industry. For over 10 years he was the COO/CFO for a west coast restaurant company that had 60 restaurants and did in excess of $80 million in annual sales. He has held the title of Controller, Director of Internal Audit, and Chief Financial Officer for various companies ranging from $16 million to $1 billion in sales.

Mike joined the Post Falls Small Business Development Center in December of 2007. He is a CPA and has extensive experience with software design and implementation of accounting, project management and treasury systems. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with a minor in computer science.

Warren Mueller, Business Coach

Warren managed an international defense contracting business for 15 years, specializing in surface-ship and nuclear submarine applications to meet a demand for fire-resistant materials. He spent the next 15 years of his career in the international specialty chemical & plastics industries, driving business and market growth in emerging markets like Asia, The Middle East, and South America. During this time he developed an action-oriented process for Strategic
Planning and published a book describing the process.

In 2011, Warren and his wife Nan, planted a mission-oriented Church in south Mississippi. They moved to Idaho in 2015 and Warren joined the Post Falls Small Business Development Center in January of 2016.

Steve Boston, Business Coach

Steve has over 40 years experience in retail, distribution and light manufacturing. His experience includes long term strategic and financial planning and supervision of operations. Development of supply and sales agreements required negotiations with customer and vendor personnel from local contacts to corporate CEO’s.

He started his first business at the age of 24. This was followed by several years as Director of Logistics and Purchasing for an international manufacturing corporation. As Division Manager of a retail/wholesale organization he was responsible for strategic and operational planning. He worked as a consultant to companies in retail and manufacturing. As General Manager of an import/export company he had the opportunity to lead the acquisition and integration of several competitors and the sale of the combined companies. As General Manager of an agricultural products company he restored profitability and negotiated the company’s sale.

 

 

Our Staff & Volunteers

The North Idaho SBDC staff and volunteers are what makes serving small area businesses possible. These dynamic professionals offer administrative support to our coaches and provide great community resources such as our newsletters and website.

Kim Ziegler, Office Manager


Kim is the Office Manager/Training Coordinator.  She assists in helping new and existing businesses thrive and grow. Kim coordinates the training workshops and manages the Post Falls SBDC office.

 

 

 

 

 

Jessica McIntosh, Volunteer
