The Love of Coffee
Randy Evans spent a decade in the coffee business prior to starting Evans Brothers Coffee. Passion for coffee was fueled while living in Italy. He later opened and managed a high-end café in Maui serving Kona Coffee where he became an apprentice roaster training with top names in the industry. He then became the head roaster at Storyville Coffee in Seattle.
Moved to Sandpoint
Rick Evans background was in Sales & Marketing in the Resort industry. He was the Director of Sales and then sold Resort Real Estate in Hawaii and the West Coast, moving to Sandpoint to work with Sothebys Realty.
Both brothers had relocated to Sandpoint as a place to raise their young families together. Randy had taken a job in Sandpoint with a roaster manufacturer, selling the machines he had roasted on for years. Laid off in the first 90 days, he and Rick spent many hours skiing Schweitzer and brainstorming how Randy could remain in Sandpoint. While also remaining in the coffee business.
The Story
Their coffee selections rotate based on harvest seasons focusing on organic agriculture and responsible sourcing. Staying true to the uniqueness of various origins, individual coffee farms, and the people who produce the coffee. They travel directly to the various regions to connect with producers and select unique micro-lots. Their roasting style compliments the distinctive qualities of each micro-lot purchased.
While Evans Brothers Coffee in Sandpoint continues to evolve their focus remains simple: provide the highest quality coffee, roast to exacting standards, and provide it fresh every week to customers and wholesale partners.
