Using Technology to Move Into a Brick and Mortar Location

One of our current NISBDC, (North Idaho Small Business Development Center), clients Bean and Pie is using technology and crowdfunding to raise capital. They are wanting to move their operations from pop up/farmers markets to brick and mortar. Using Kickstarter they are trying to raise the money they need for a down payment as they are seeking a loan from the bank.

We’re planning on opening a shop in Coeur d’Alene serving pies made with local ingredients. We can’t take the next step without money for improvements on a brick-and-mortar location and equipment. We are working with a bank to obtain financing, but need help coming up with $20,000 for the down payment on a loan.

Good pies start with good ingredients. We use as many local (and often organic) ingredients as possible in our pies. Using local ingredients supports farmers and producers, keeps money in our community and makes for delicious pies. When we open the shop, we will expand our menu to include fruit pies, cream pies and savory pies. We will also have gluten free and vegan options! Our flavors change seasonally, so there is always something new to be enjoyed.
